I doubt it is real. Even if the baby were outside the uterus, I think the rectus, internal and external oblique muscles would prevent such a clear definition of the toes.

When we are doing laparoscopy, and we push with our finger against the skin of the anterior abdominal wall, while observing the underside of the anterior abdominal wall, (to decide where to make the second puncture wound) we do not see our finger in anywhere near this clarity.

This image came to me byway of my sister, who received it from another person.

I have never seen anything like this. It is such a clear imprint that it makes me think that it might be an "abdominal pregnancy".

I e-mailed the person who sent it to me to see where the picture originated. If the baby is in a sac, I don't see how such a picture is possible. I told her I would ask you.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
