I have not actually seen Sonocubic work, but I believe it is a card/software interface that allows "free hand" scanning, and produces 3D rendering.

Their web site is: http://www.medgeplatforms.com/sonocubic3/

Also see: http://www.medgeplatforms.com/sonocubic3/template.php?section=2 How it works » explaining the technology

What is SONOCUBIC™ SONOCUBIC™ is a complete Software solution that can run on conventional PC Hardware. It acquires and processes the freehand swept 2D slice images from any ultrasound scanner, or the volume file of a "volumetric 3D probe", or the slice of a CT or MRI, to produce a volume of anatomy that can be rendered as 3D, 4D or Multiplanar orthogonal planes. Any transducer (Transvaginal, Convex or Linear) can be used. The advanced compression and data manipulation offers “state of the art” potential for medical networking, storing, and printing.

How it works: Ultrasound: The user studies a patient as usual. Once the user finds a "pocket of amniotic fluid"(Ob application), or other interesting anatomy, he or she simply steps on a pedal and sweeps the probe across the desired area. If Rapid Sequential 3D mode is chosen, SONOCUBIC will automatically render a 3D image right after sweeping the probe in a way that we call "SCAN AND SEE".

Good luck, Terry

I just receive a message about Sonocubic and your functions. I have Toshiba SSH 140A.

I have been looking for informations at internet, but i find a few. I would like to know how this techonology is used at USA and your results. Thanks in advance. ==================================================== Guttenberg Primo,MD mailto:gutten@uol.com.br PGPavailable Messenger: guttenbergprimo@hotmail.com ICQ: 2009980

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
