Does anyone out there take a nice 2D profile picture and give it to the parents? Does anyone ever admire the fetus for some amount of time just because the parents want you to? Do you ever use an ultrasound machine instead of a doptone to get the FH just because it's in the room? I think the bar for what constitutes sufficient reason to do a scan is set incredibly low. Remember, the average German woman gets something like 7 or more scans in a normal pregnancy. Either they're doing something really wrong, or maybe just maybe ultrasound is actually pretty safe.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
