Re: "non-medical use of sonography"From: Virginia421@aol.comFri Dec 19 17:47:14 2003
In my city, a pregnancy center was given a 4d machine to encourage mothers to keep their babies. Is this not a misuse of a medical exam? These exams are being done by untrained personnel and go as long as 45 minutes. What about the bioeffects? If parents want pretty pictures of their babies and it is safe why is that misuse and pushing your personal agenda not?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
