Re: fetal monitor strips and the electronic recordFrom: Richard & Katrina Carter (rkkcarter@zianet.com)Mon Dec 15 18:59:26 2003
Hello, My wife is an L&D nurse at 2 different hospitals. One hospital saves strips & the other uses only the electronic record. These hospitals are in the same town and do within 35 deliveries of one another. I think she prefers to save the paper strips, because you can view long periods of time to see if there is a pattern, esp. of decelerations like lates. One of the hospitals microfiches the strips after a year or two. Anyway, just thought I'd give you her opinion. RDC

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
