Re: Urinary HydropsFrom: AnneMarie Fox-Shell (amfox@aium.org)Mon Dec 15 16:39:45 2003
Recently there was a question regarding urinary hydrops. It is simply an advanced stage of urinary ascites. Rupture of an obstructed, overly distended fetal urinary system results in urinary ascites, which subsequently causes systemic pressures, developing into hydrops. Though not all sonographers may be familiar with this, those of us who have worked in high risk OB sonography do encounter it on occasion. -- AnneMarie Fox-Shell, BA, MS, RDMS CME Specialist American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine 14750 Sweitzer Lane, Suite 100 Laurel, MD 20707-5906 301-498-4100 http://www.aium.org

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
