Terry

would definitely defer to Dr. Platt on this one ... but, while no movement = poor tone, one can have weak sluggish movements which suggest poor tone. extension with return to flexion and/or opening and closing the hand constitutes good tone.

I had always assumed that Fetal Tone was like opening and closing the hand, but body movements were more like the fetus rolling over or making more large (gross) movements. These are scored separately, but I didn't have a good answer to this.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
