ultrasound showed a large basketball size ovarian growth, Dr. described as round, smooth and solid not liquid. Is this a good sign that it would not be malignant or does it not make a difference? I am not understanding the difference in cyst/tumor/growth.

I am being referred to an gyn-oncologist but am not able to even get into the surgeon that my Dr. wants me to see for several weeks (vacation). Should I wait or get busy and find another surgeon on my own. Is it safe to wait, if this sounds like it would most likely be benign then perhaps it is ok to wait. I just don't know what to do. These Drs. are very busy and seem to want me to wait for phone calls for more appointment with either of them and it seems that they are so busy that nothing is going to happen quickly. In the mean time I am left to worry. Can you let me know if I need not worry and to just relax and wait or if I should not accept the waiting and find someone new. I guess I need to know if I am in danger. My blood test came back normal for cancer so maybe I am worried for nothing. I think maybe that it could just be the mere thought of a "basketball" size of anything growing in me.
