Folks, we finally have permission to start working on a degree completion for a Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. We are currently searching for a new faculty member with RDCS credentials. In addition to teaching the Echocardiography portion of the current program, this person will assist in starting a completely web-based DMS Bachelor of Science Degree Completion program. This degree completion is intended for ARDMS certified sonographers who want to complete their Bachelor of Science degree in DMS; it will not include a clinical component, thus ARDMS Certification will be a prerequisite. This is an opportunity to make a major contribution to our profession, and to gain valuable experience.

We are accepting applications for a full-time RDCS faculty member with a Bachelor's Degree, minimum... see our web site for specifics (Left menu "Faculty Opening"):

We are going to move a head with a DMS Degree Completion Program for those who want to get a Bachelor of Science in DMS via the http://wwweb. We are looking toward the first Degree Completion class to start in 2004. This will not affect our regular DMS Program. Prerequisites for the DMS Bachelor's Degree Completion will include ARDMS certification (this will be totally distance ed and we will not have a clinical education component, so you must be ARDMS Certified). The first class will be limited until we are sure all the Web courses are running as planned, so interested student applicants should get their applications in early (Application is upper right of above page).

As you might imagine, the DMS BS Degree Completion is a work in progress and depends upon our filling the faculty position fairly quickly... no guarantees at this time as to the actual start date or exact program design. We are shooting for the first class to start in 2004. .

Please spread the word by printing out the job recruitment flyer from our web pages and posting it where Echocardiographers may see it.

Thanks, Terry & Tony

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
