Hello,

I am pregnant with my second child and I am 14 wks, my first pregnancy was fine however, at my first ultra sound they thought my placenta was low, so they tested at 32 wks and this problem had corrected it's self.

Two days ago, I started spotting (dark brown thick blood) I had an ultra sound and was told that the baby was ok however, they found that my placenta was low( I wasn't concerned as this had happened before and everything had turned out just fine) and that their was a spot of blood behind the placenta. They told me it was approx. 4cm and was filled with "waste blood" I think they called it "Venus Lakes" but I am unsure as their english was hard to understand. I was told to stay in bed for the next few days to try to stop the bleeding and to return in 2 weeks for an other ultra sound to see if the spot is getting smaller.

I want to know more about this condition and what are the chances of still carrying to full term. I totally trust my OB, but she talked to other doctors from a larger center and they all seemed confused and unsure about what my treatment should be. I will do anything to save this pregnancy, but I need to know more in order to do this. Please help.

please respond to rdschell@sk.sympatico.ca as soon as you can help me

Thank You A concerned mother.
