Re: Uterine and Cervical PathologyFrom: Virginia421@aol.comThu Mar 13 17:41:48 2003
You need to know if the polyp is in the endometrium. Usually there are polyps in the endometrium and fibroids in the uterus. The endometrium of the uterus is the middle of the uterus where the blood collects for the next period. Poylps in the endometrium are mostly just bothersome things that cause heavy bleeding and bleeding in between periods. Very rarely are they of a malignant nature. A D and C to clean out the uterus will remove the polyp. This is not an unusual finding Let me know how you do. Virginia421@aol

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
