Prominent Cysterna MagnaFrom: Deborah Clary (dac@sc2000.net)Sat Mar 1 12:19:22 2003
I just had an ultrasound done today. I am 34 weeks pregnant with my first child. I am a 34 years old and the father of the baby is 52. I am white he is Hispanic. I was told that my son had an enlarged cysterna magna. I asked if this was serious and the technician said no, but that the doctor would follow up on it with me at my next appt. What does this mean? Is this an abnormality of the brain? If so what if any problems does it cause my baby? Please, any information you can give me will be greatly appreciated. My e-mail address is dac@sc2000.net I was told in the beginning of my pregnancy that because of my age and the fathers age that I was at risk for defects, but this is the first time I have been told anything could be wrong. Please respond as soon as you can. Thank you for your help, D. Clary
