Radiology question: MRI v. CTFrom: DoctorJoe@aol.comFri Nov 15 10:50:59 2002
To the Group: Anyone with some radiology expertise know anything about this? A patient of mine is in a tug-of-war (negative one - neither wants to take charge) between an ENT and an oral surgeon. She either has apical dental disease, or sinusitis. The question is: They did a CT of her sinuses and said it was "normal." I wanted to know if any added/better information can be gotten from an MRI of the sinuses, etc. Will that show up more soft tissue definition than a CT? Any other benefit? Anyone have any idea? The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
