Pathology has missed that tissue.

It is a polypoid dispastic chorionitis, result of both local mole and infection. Barely that pregnancy would go successfully on. It sure would have turned into the case (proven at histology), presented at our site "Medicalimaging" by

About 2 months ago, I examined a primigravida 36 years old woman.

She had 10 days delayed of menses.

On ultrasound I saw an embryo with positive heart beat and CRL: 5mm.

There was a strange round solid mass in the coelomic space 10mm in diameter.

It was looking something like a polyp. I also thought about possible partial mole.

I am sure that this 'polyp' were into the sac. It was covered by the trophoblast.

As the patient had already decided to do an elective abortion, D&C was performed.

Even the pathologist were aware for the case, he could not be able to find any anomaly !

I examined the patient on the 13th day after her new menses.

No pathology was seen. There was a normal triple line endometrium.

Does anybody has seen such a thing ?
