Ultrasound Tech

Ms. Fourman: Just to echo Dr. DeBose; the vast majority of experienced and registered sonographers find the term "Ultrasound Tech", as it should and is clearly described in the ARDMS guidelines, refering to people not registered by the American Registery of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). I am sure that you require someone who can demonstrate a competent level of education, which the registration helps to ensure. I have seen your ad for many weeks. However, due to the wording, have been hesitant to contact you. Perhaps your search would be more successful if you correctly worded your ad. I am a member of the national Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (SDMS), as well as a State Representative of the SDMS. Unfortunately, we have just had our local Central Ohio Ultrasound Society meeting, in which job advertisements were announced (these included only referals by active members). Jeff Bradley, Riverside Radiology, is currently establishing a web page. He may be a good resource. The director of the Central Ohio Technical College is our new president of the COUS, and she may also be a good resource. Good luck! Jayne Moser, BS RDMS, APS The Ohio State University

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
