Sony used to make a Mavicam type recorder for stills I use.
There are bunches of digital image capture boards out there:

Also the newer digital cameras can often capture a TV source to still frame
digital.
My old diasonics synergee takes PC diskettes to record on. GE, who trashed
this model when they bought diasonics, now is coming out with a PC base for
it's "New Technology" machines, and hopefully will do the same thing.
