Uterine synechia or amniotic band?From: BejeFoster@aol.comTue Oct 8 17:36:44 2002
I am 32. I have had 3 healthy children. I recently had an ultrsound performed stating my due date Feb. 10, 2003. It shows me to be right at 20 weeks. The tech saw what she called an amniotic band or "shelf". I have a positive screening on my AFP test. We did the amniocentisis and will get results around Oct. 17, 2002. I have looked online about ABS and the stories all talk about the band being wrapped around some part of the baby's body in all the cases I read about. In my sonogram the band was not wrapped around the baby, and all of the digits of each finger on both hands were apparent. Same as with the feet. All limbs seemed to be there. My question: Is it possible to have the band and there be no complications caused to the baby? Thank you, Beje Foster
