Not having read Mohr’s whole article, I would doubt he is advocating abandoning standards. It seems though ACOG argues we have no “standards”- guidelines say: “This document provides risk management information that is current as of the date issued and is subject to change. This document does not define standard of care nor should it be interpreted as legal advice.” Besides, if we’re advocating no standards, why is everyone getting so worked up about US in the mall? Are you advocating standards for everyone but the medical profession?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
