strange embryoFrom: =?iso-8859-7?B?xPEuIMn53O3t5/Igzenq7+vp5Nzq5/I=?= (nickolidakis@geneticsunit.gr)Sat Aug 24 13:57:09 2002
About 2 months ago, I examined a primigravida 36 years old woman. She had 10 days delayed of menses. On ultrasound I saw an embryo with positive heart beat and CRL: 5mm. There was a strange round solid mass in the coelomic space 10mm in diameter. It was looking something like a polyp. I also thought about possible partial mole. I am sure that this 'polyp' were into the sac. It was covered by the trophoblast. As the patient had already decided to do an elective abortion, D&C was performed. Even the pathologist were aware for the case, he could not be able to find any anomaly ! I examined the patient on the 13th day after her new menses. No pathology was seen. There was a normal triple line endometrium. Does anybody has seen such a thing ? Dr Y.Nickolidakis Athens Greece
