She is more than welcome to apply to our program... http://www.uams.edu/CHRP/dmshome.htm

I would recommend that she go to http://www.CAAHEP.org web page and follow the links to the accredited programs in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. This web site has a list of all accredited DMS programs in the USA.

Unfortunately there are no requirements for practicing sonography in the USA... none what so ever. It is very much a free-for-all in which the buyer must be aware. This is also true of ultrasound education, and the reason I only recommend accredited programs.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
