Expert Sonologist (in OB and Gyn) neededFrom: Dr. Eric Deigan (ericdeigan@prodigy.net)Fri Aug 2 13:40:11 2002
I am looking for a physician sonologist, preferably OB/Gyn MFM, to replace an MFM who is leaving the state. I run a center of excellence in OB and Gyn ultrasound in the Triangle area (Raleigh / Durham / Chapel Hill) of North Carolina. We have state of the art ultrasound equipment, ATL 5000 machines with SonoCT and 3-D, and a Medison (GE) 730 3-D / $-D machine. I would like to continue to work with professionals who also excel at OB/Gyn ultrasound. At present, almost all patients seen here are for diagnostic OB or Gyn ultrasound and related procedures and consultations, and MFM consultations have been outpatient only, so evening and weekend work is almost nonexistent. If desired there would be an opportunity for an MFM to offer inpatient consultations. Among the more frequently provided OB services are nuchal translucency screening, genetic sonograms, amniocentesis, and all other OB ultrasound including fetal echo, biophysical profiles, Doppler and so on. In Gyn we see a lot of patients with abnormal bleeding (so we do a lot of sonohysterograms) or pelvic pain and masses, and offer Color / Power Doppler assessment of masses or to screen for ovarian cancer. If you are interested in knowing more about this opportunity, please write or phone.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
