I do not think it is a very important issue, because if the sonohysterogram is successful, the thickness of the endometrium is not going to be a major factor. However, I would agree that a few days after the menses might have a small advantage. A very small polyp might be obscured by a thick luteal phase endometrium. Also if you do the sonohysterogram just at the end of a menses or a day or two later, you will lessen the chance of doing it during a very early and undiagnosable conception.
