For anyone performing sonohystograms...is there a "best" time frame to accomplish these exams in relation to the LMP? (see question below) We have been for a while, but now there is a question of the time-frame for a perimenopausal patient. I say it should be done within the first 10 days of her LMP. This will be the "cleanest" time for the endometrium (usually), thus less artifacts to interfere with the exam. Others here are saying to perform the exam when the endometrium is at it's thickest. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
