Perinatologists vs. Prenatologists This is one of the reasons that radiology has more often relied upon ronographers to do the actual scanning... many ronographers are very good and faster than the physicians who simply do not have the time to develop the psychomotor skills or keep up with the changing hardware... you may know there is a gain control and what it does, but if you can't find it, you can't use it. Many larger hospitals may have 5-10 different makes and models of machines... all with different control configurations. The best sonologists (including perinatologists & obstetricians) I have worked with will, when the sonographer finds a difficult case, simply come in stand behind the sonographer and ask questions and for specific views... it is just faster... thus more economical. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
