Ah, but you miss the point, Grasshopper. The bottom line is $$$.

If the insurer pays $25 for someone with minimal initials (but initials nonetheless) behind their name for a sonogram, then OF COURSE they'll make the rule that THOSE initials are preferable.... You with the M.D. (who want $125, by the way) DON'T GET PAID, because you're not on the list. You CLAIM you do a wonderful job, but it says right here on the list, you've got the wrong initials - payment DENIED.

Of course, if the person with the prefered initials does a "better" job, and incidentally wants $50 since it was such a good job, then - oops! - payment DENIED! See, it says right here on the list that people with your initials only get $25....

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
