Wow...you are on the 2nd floor! Our High-Risk OB clinic is on the 7th floor!!! That's even above Filly's level 5! Who knew?

Yes, Filly did have a good editorial about levels... see:

http://forums.obgyn.net/womens-health/WHF.9709/0168.html

also:

"Currently there are many people wanting to use this wonderfully powerful diagnostic tool. Many do not have adequate training to use it safely. This is not to imply that sonographic energy is dangerous, but a missed or wrong diagnosis harms the patient just as surely as an over dose of radiation does. Many people, physicians, nurses and others are starting to use sonography. This is to be expected with such a good tool. But if they do not get proper training, they will not be able to understand the image. Knowledge of the physics of the interaction of sound energy with human tissues is necessary to decipher the information contained in the image. Just as Roy Filly (1) decried the promulgation of ever increasing "levels" of sonographic examinations because of lack of experience and claiming that a level I examination is less diagnostic than a Level II, III IV, or V, a limited examination which misses a diagnosis still harms the patient."(2)

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
