Re: Level three sonogramFrom: DuBose, Terry (DuboseTerryJ@uams.edu)Tue Jul 16 08:47:06 2002
Karen, I think "level three" is a meaningless term. Probably used by some to inflate their ego(s). There are different ideas about how the level 1 and 2 got started, and the meaning. The AIUM and CPT codes do not recognize any but complete and limited exams, no levels 1 or 2. For an interesting take on this look for an AJR editorial by Dr. Roy Filly... for more see: http://forums.obgyn.net/womens-health/WHF.9709/0168.html Hope this helps. Peace, Terry J. I've not heard this term before First Look used it on website. I thought even the "level two" moniker was going by the wayside in favor of "targeted" scan. ~Karen

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
