We recently delivered a baby from a CMV and rubella IgG + mother with a left hemithorax ill defined subcutaneous mass that turned out to be consistent with capillary lymphangioma on CT scan. Earlier ultrasounds of this baby showed minimal fetal ascites and a thickened abdominal wall that eventually resolved and at the third trimester we just noted left hemithorax subcutaneous edema tha was non-progressive until birth. is there a correlation with the CMV and rubella maternal infection or is it another entity?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit.
