Dr. Jeanty, these non-medical "3D Keepsake" businesses were discussed at the AIUM Bioeffects Committee last year. The FDA expressed concerned and said that they would look into it... but I have heard nothing since then. These operations really are proliferating. Recently I heard of an accredited (JCAHO) hospital (Catholic) that is going to start a "Pro-Life Clinic", not for diagnostic purposes, but for "bonding". Peace, Terry J. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
