To Whom it May Concern, My daughter was born with a right pelvic kidney. The diagnosis was made while I was still pregnant with her. After she was born they did another ultrasound. It concluded that her kidney was not functioning at all. The specialist that we were seeing told me that she would have to have an annual examination to keep watch for any abnormalities. We are in the military so we are unable to see the same doctor. At her most recent examination (ultrasound) they did not see her kidney. I know that without seeing the film that was taken it would be hard to conclude anything, but I am a nervous Mother and I don't know if an organ can just disappear!?!? FYI: her kidney was about 1/3 the size of a normal kidney at birth my daughter was born on 28Feb99...so this is her 3rd ultrasound. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
