Folks, OBGYN.net has a new addition to the Ultrasound-History forum, a collaborative effort with the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS). This includes a video clip of the first public demonstration of color Doppler medical ultrasound and text explaining the history of the video. http://www.obgyn.net/us/us.asp?page=/us/news_articles/ultrasound_history/asp -history-toc

and the forum for Ultrasound History:

In the words of Dr. Eric Blackwell an Editor of the History of Ultrasound site:

"The Doppler video and the historical material from Drs. Stevenson and Baker are a wonderful addition to the history of ultrasound pages. The Doppler film played just fine on my system: MAC G4/Internet Explorer 5.0/RealPlayer using a high-speed ethernet connection. The size of the playback window was adequate for meaningful viewing."

"The e-mail from Dr. Stevenson and the material provided by Dr. Don Baker are the types of historical information which will in time become a priceless resource for those interested in the evolution of the diagnostic ultrasound field. I would encourage them to write down even more of their recollections and share them with the general imaging community as they can find the time."

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
