Re: Woes with DICOM, Sequoia and clips. From: Philippe Jeanty (jeanty@TheFetus.net)Sat May 4 17:26:04 2002
Hi Terry, Well the lecture without the recording is only just a skeleton... but .. also I have used it at many different opportunities and indeed some slides should have been removed (lots of work though to polish this...) I was not aware the SRU did not accept Sonographers.. that is a strange limitation. -----Original Message----- From: ultrasound@obgyn.net [mailto:ultrasound@obgyn.net] On Behalf Of DuBose, Terry Sent: Friday, May 03, 2002 5:49 PM To: Multiple recipients of list ULTRASOUND Subject: Re: Woes with DICOM, Sequoia and clips. Dr. Jeanty, that is quite a file! 348 slides and 50 MB in size. Took 5+ minutes to download on a T1. A quick overview, it looks good. I will have to spend some time to look through it. Thanks for sharing. A couple of notes... toward the end you discussed electronic publication with a few examples, I was disappointed that you did not mention OBGYN.net... also SRU... just another elitist organization that excludes non-physician sonographers from its membership. Too bad. That is what makes the ISUOG, AIUM and SDMS so good, they welcome everyone, and we all learn from one another... and are better for it. IMHO. Peace, Terry J. Well I had other request today to post this lecture .. so if you have a fast line you can download it. It is the most recent icon in http://www.TheFetus.net -----Original Message----- From: ultrasound@obgyn.net [mailto:ultrasound@obgyn.net]On Behalf Of DuBose, Terry Sent: Friday, May 03, 2002 11:05 AM To: Multiple recipients of list ULTRASOUND Subject: Re: Woes with DICOM, Sequoia and clips. But how many people have a MO drive on their PC? Peace, Terry J. There is a much simpler solution. Copy your clips to the little MO and import them in your PC. Once imported simply rename them to MOV and you should be in business. I cover this in my lecture on Multimedia, but I have hesitate to post that lecture on http://www.TheFetus.net because it is about 50 MB .. -----Original Message----- From: ultrasound@obgyn.net [mailto:ultrasound@obgyn.net]On Behalf Of Jeff Bradley Sent: Friday, May 03, 2002 5:29 AM To: Multiple recipients of list ULTRASOUND Subject: Re: Woes with DICOM, Sequoia and clips. Go to http://www.triltech.com, the software is a dicom reader which will allow you to do about anything with the clips from the sequoia. The software is called showcse and goes for $400 US. THey also have a 30 day demo you can try. I am trying to convert the ultrasound videoclips stored on AEGIS-Sequoia to a format which allows to put them on a presentation like MS-powerpoint. The problem is to export them from the US machine and that has been done connecting it to the network and the server I use for my ultrasound reports. The images and clips are exported in DICOM format that means to a DICOM viewer which in my case is e-film 1.5. Unfortunately this release of e-film which is freeware does not support the reading of more then one clip giving error when you try to copy the clips to your server. The newer version of e-film is capable to import from the Sequoia-AEGIS system and is capable to export the clips in a AVI format. Unfortunately it costs some 500$ or more and it takes my hospital at least three months to buy that software (burocracy!). Well, my QUESTION is: anybody out there is familiar with a working solution for this specific problem? I have tryed some freeware available on the net but did not have any success yet.
