Woes with DICOM, Sequoia and clips. From: Wolfgang Moroder, MD (womorode@tin.it)Fri May 3 02:04:28 2002
I am trying to convert the ultrasound videoclips stored on AEGIS-Sequoia to a format which allows to put them on a presentation like MS-powerpoint. The problem is to export them from the US machine and that has been done connecting it to the network and the server I use for my ultrasound reports. The images and clips are exported in DICOM format that means to a DICOM viewer which in my case is e-film 1.5. Unfortunately this release of e-film which is freeware does not support the reading of more then one clip giving error when you try to copy the clips to your server. The newer version of e-film is capable to import from the Sequoia-AEGIS system and is capable to export the clips in a AVI format. Unfortunately it costs some 500$ or more and it takes my hospital at least three months to buy that software (burocracy!). Well, my QUESTION is: anybody out there is familiar with a working solution for this specific problem? I have tryed some freeware available on the net but did not have any success yet.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
