According to your article, there is some disparity among practitioners that ultrasound does not necessarily paint an accurate picture for the diagnosis of Down's Syndrome. Is my understanding of this article correct? I am 34 (first child) with and have recently had a triple screen positive for Down's. Ultrasonography revealed a thickened nuchal fold, but the practitioner wasn't sure if it was a 6 or not. Does your article state that a 6 at one gestational age would be a different prognosis than a 6 at a different gestational age? Naturally, I am anxiously awaiting the results of my amnio. -karrin

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
