Skin condition and ultrasound imagingFrom: J Tomko (buddy@redrose.net)Sun Mar 31 06:58:07 2002
Another thought is hydration of the mother. I too get frustrated when I get a thin mother and 22 week fetus and feel like I am fighting and doing warp drive adjustments on my machine to garnish a decent image. We still ask for 32 ounces hydration prior to the exam and allow the patient to void. At least for the day of the ultrasound the mother is obtaining slightly adequate hydration. Just another thought on this topic, Janet Tomko, RDMS Clipped text: Wolfgang, These effects would probably improve image resolution. I too wonder why some women have lousy transmission and resolution, and others good, out of proportion to the amount of fat we see. Jim

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
