When performing a sonohysterogram, we seem to have difficulty visualizing the endometrial cavity when the uterus is situated in a neutral position. I know if the uterus is anteverted, you position the probe anterior to the catheter, and if the uterus is retroverted, you position the probe posterior to the catheter. Does anyone have any "hints" to make visualization better when looking at the uterus when it is in a neutral position? Our physicians prefer to use the balloon hysterosonogram catheters and there is some shadowing from the balloon. We fill the balloon with saline, and try to remove all the air bubbles. Plus it seems these patients generally speaking are never very small people which doesn't help either. Thank you. Ruth A. King RT, RDMS Bayshore OB/Gyn

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
