Allen, I do not have any specific literature in mind right now but there
are a few excellent pages explaining scattering and its relation to the
frequency of the USbeam on this book: Diagnostic Ultrasound: Principles
and Instruments by Frederick W. Kremkau, W.B. Saunders Company 1998 on
page 52.
