Re: Benacerraf's Genetic Scoring SystemFrom: Allen Worrall (jworrall@alaska.net)Thu Jan 17 12:15:38 2002
That is not between the lines. Dr. Benacerraf and her group clearly say that everyone 40 and over should have an amniocentesis because it is not possible to reduce the risk of Down (1:xxx) to a point where amniocentesis is not indicated, despite normal blood screen and ultrasound. I think most of the gurus (Nyberg, DeVore) agree with this. Allen Joseph A Worrall MD RDMS The Fairbanks Clinic 1919 Lathrop Street, Suite 100 Fairbanks, AK 99701 jworrall@alaska.net 1 907 451 4225

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
