Turbid AF...Re: RE: density of amniotic fluidFrom: fazeel (fazeel@atd.hazara.net.pk)Thu Nov 22 13:19:43 2001
Turbid amniotic fluid can be due to bleed into the amniotic fluid. Dr Fazeel uz Zaman -------- ORIGINAL MESSAGE BELOW -------- Hi I have find this several times. The first time I thought it was meconium stain, then wait to the delivery.......... nothing Again with vermix ....... not a huge difference to "normal" amniotic fluid Then I find this staining hepatic like echogenicity and then the big difference is made if there is large quantity of amniotic fluid or not. I did find in large amount of amniotic fluid cases fetuses that in the neonatal period where "vomiting" babies. My experience is that the staining is probably due to stomach reflux to the amniotic fluid. I am sending an images of this finding. Hope you understand my poor english.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
