Re: Ring IUDFrom: judidsog (judidsog@rad.net.id)Wed Nov 7 08:50:14 2001
I'm dr.Judi J.Endjun (obstetrician and gynecologist) from Indonesia. I had one patient with China Ring IUD. It was very difficult to extract the IUD from the womb, we performed neurolept anesthesia when extracted the IUD. I think vasectomy is better than China ring IUD. I'm 53 years old and she is 43 and I don't want any more children. I have 2 and 5 grandchildren. She has had the ring in her for 13 years and says that it is safe but i'm leary and would like to know your opinion on the subject. She had sex with her ex husband for 9 years after she had it put in and never got pregnant. Do you have a percentage rate or anything i can go by? Do you recomend any other birth control to go along with it, or a vasectomy? Is it healthy for her to have it? Thank you and would apreciate your advice on the subject.
