Re: Fw: (sin asunto) - "ovarian cancer"+Doppler a Web searchFrom: Terry J DuBose (tjdubose@juno.com)Sun Jul 29 08:47:38 2001
Alicia, Hector... greetings. Hope you family is well... thanks for the help. This will have to be in English, perhaps it will help. I will also post to Ultrasound@OBGYN.net... it is good to post these kinds of searchs just to archive them... might help someone else. Unfortunately we are not doing so well finding ovarian (& breast) CA early enough to do the most good. On http://www.OBGYN.net a search brought 120 matches found for the query "ovarian cancer". However, there were no hits from "ovarian cancer"+Doppler, "ovarian cancer"+ultras, or "ovarian cancer"+sonog. A search of the OBGYN.net Gold Services: http://www.obgyn.net/medline.asp on "Ovarian cancer screening and Doppler" brought: RESULT SET: 245641 documents found - DATE RANGE: 1995 to 2001 JAVIERCAMIO@aol.com might want to try that search and look through that information, (suggest checking the box "relevance" as a search criteria, while "recency" brings the latest publications to the top. A http://www.GOOGLE.com search on "ovarian cancer" + Doppler brought about 1,730 hits, the following are among the best that I saw with a quick look. Very new information: (New Research Presented at Society of Gynecological Oncologists held their 32nd Annual Meeting, March 3-7, 2001: http://pathology2.jhu.edu/ovca/news.cfm?ID=47 This page also has links to the meeting abstracts http://www.sgo.org/meetings/32ndannual/abstracts/abstract.asp?abstractid209 This one is a little older: Ovarian cancer: Current outlook on this deadly disease William A. Nahhas, MD - VOL 102 / NO 3 / SEPTEMBER 1997 / POSTGRADUATE MEDICINE http://www.postgradmed.com/issues/1997/09_97/nahhas.htm CRD REPORT 13 - SCREENING FOR OVARIAN CANCER: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW http://www.york.ac.uk/inst/crd/report13 http://text.nlm.nih.gov/nih/cdc/www/96txt.html 96. OVARIAN CANCER: SCREENING, TREATMENT, AND FOLLOWUP-National Institutes of Health Consensus Development Conference Statement-April 5-7, 1994 http://www.nlm.nih.gov/pubs/cbm/ovcancer.html Ovarian Cancer: January 1990 through January 1994, plus selected earlier references (1908 Citations), Prepared by Mary E. Conway, M.L.S., National Library of Medicine Edward L. Trimble, M.D., M.P.H., National Cancer Institute Also, there are some more ovarian cancer screening pages that have ultrasound & Doppler references. Screening for Ovarian Cancer: http://www.moffitt.usf.edu/pubs/ccj/v3n2/article4.html Screening Asymptomatic Women for Ovarian Cancer: American College of Preventive Medicine Practice Policy Statement (at the bottom of this page are numerious links to policy statements concerning most kinds of cancer and related information). http://www.acpm.org/ovary.htm This one has many references with Web links: http://ovariancancer.jhmi.edu/references.cfm Here is one that discuss the genetic associations of ovarian CA: http://intouchlive.com/home/frames.htm?http://intouchlive.com/cancergenet ics/ovary.htm&3 This one looks useful: http://www.uptodate.com/topics/topics/2414P1.htm Discussion: http://www.gynsecondopinion.com/OvarianCancer.shtml Limited discussion... written for the public. http://www.cancercare.org/campaigns/ovarian5.htm Also for the public, but will be good for students. This article has almost every term used hot-linked to more information... http://www.lineone.net/health_encyclopaedia/growth/pages/117/10.htm#5- Hope this helps. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
