Re: Doppler of the UterusFrom: Allen Worrall (jworrall@alaska.net)Thu Jun 28 16:25:16 2001
I think you should ask the referring provider what they had in mind, what vessel they would like you to interrogate, did they have a particular reference that you could read, etc. Assuming that there is some body of evidence that Doppler interrogation of the uterine arteries or endometrial vessels does contribute something, if your lab has never done it, it is not likely that your results will be meaningful. I do not mean that your lab is not a good lab, but simply that meaningful Doppler results require a good deal of expertise and experience with that particular vessel and location. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
