Re: video on powerpointFrom: Peter Coombs (petensha@alphalink.com.au)Tue Jun 12 09:24:03 2001
Greetings... There are a few options regarding the digitising of video and but there is no simple answer. Its a balance of cost, memory, and quality of final product. Here's a couple of options to at least consider. A very cheap solution is this device. http://www.micronica.com.au/digvis/nogatech/usblive/index.htm It is a video capture adaptor which will interface between video/PC. Being separate to the PC box, it will also interface directly between an ultrasound system and a laptop thus removing the image degradation that occurs when going to video tape. I have a colleague who really likes his. This is the only device of this type that I am aware of...(tho' there may be others) Conversely, I have just purchased an Allinwonder. http://www.ati.com/na/pages/products/pc/aiw_radeon/index.html As I write, I am having mixed success as the TV tuner seems to not like one of the memory components in the PC. Potentially however, this is a very clever card with good video editing software which will do just about everything you could ask of it. This card has more bells and whistles however as it is on my home computer, I cannot directly interface to the ultrasound system which is a big disadvantage. Finally, If you are considering going down any of these paths. Do yourself a favour and trek down to the local Apple mac dealer and check out the new notebooks and the video hardware and software that these come with. It will give you some understanding of what is possible. This little list may hopefully stimulate a little further discussion

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
