Advise on new PCFrom: DR.JOE ANTONY (jscan@vsnl.com)Thu May 31 04:56:45 2001
Dear friends, Those of you who are computer geeks (experts) could you give me some advise on buying a new PC. My present computer is really outdated (a DX2 486) with Windows 95. It is really slow (takes about 15 min. to open a web page with pics etc). I am thinking of getting a P 3 (1 GHz) with Windows Me (Millenium edition) and plenty of memory. Problem, I have heard Windows XP (whistler) is to be released soon. And this will make all our present PCs outdated. So, should I wait for a powerful P 4 with Windows XP? Or is it all hype? Basically my needs: web browsing, email, word processing and printing, games (last but not the least). Do you think things like video on demand etc will require a P4 with Windows XP? Wish to hear from as many of you as possible. (Udaya, Allen, Anatoli, Sabih, Fazeel, Claudia, Jeevak and others) Regards, Joe Antony Cochin, India.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
