Re: ULTRASOUND digest 1242 art fougner, mdFrom: Rich Dempsey RDMS/RVT (ridem@msn.com)Mon May 21 21:07:11 2001
Dr. Elias Baracat is inquiring about treatment regimes for molar pregnancy in a 17 year old who presented with massive bleeding and hypovolemic shock. The patient was treated surgically, they are following up with serial HCG levels. He was inquiring whether medical intervention was advantageous. My understanding of Spanish is even dimmer that my knowledge of gynecology, however I believe methotrexate (sp?) is sometimes used, serial chest Xrays are obtained and repeat US is recommended , until the possibility of choriocarcinoma has been excluded.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
