Apparent Failing CerclageFrom: shamanesk (jeliroc@megsinet.net)Sun May 13 23:51:18 2001
Could you please explain to me what happened in this case. Three years ago I lost a baby at 20wks-now I'm 8wks pregnant and am diagnosed with incompetent cervix and recommended to get a cerclage at 13 wks,and I have my doubts, yet of course don't want to take the risk. I also have a 6yr old son....it was said to me because of my prolonged dialation during labor with him that I probably got this 'incompetent cervix'. Still hoping to have as least intervention as possible, yet willing to do the procedure if nescessary.Do you have any advice???? I do realize this is a difficult question and most friends and family say to play it 'safe'. Thank you for your time, Sincerly, Robin Manesky My e-mail.....RMANESKY@Hotmail.com

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
