Dear Dr.Worral: Thank you for your reply. Yes by Hysterogram I am referring to the traditional X-ray test in which the radio opaue dye is instilled into the uterine cavity and the progress is observed by fluoroscopy to establish tubal patency as well as many other features that are likely to be missed or mis-interpreted by Hycosy- such as endometrial polyps, endometritis and synechiae--features which if not diagnosed properly are detrimental to accurate treatment and proper management of the couples infertility,. HyCosy involves a transvaginal ultrasound investigation of the tubes before and after the injection of an echo-enhancing agent(Echovist-200 containing galactose microparticles marketed by Scherring) It is an expensive procedure with unreliable and inconclusive findings but being conceived as a great advancement over traditional Hysterogram has been readily promoted by sonologists and by gullible patients who in Pakistan unfortunately enjoy freedom of choosing their own doctor and line of treatment!! Thanks Naseem Ahmad >
