Obviously 3D takes more time... at this time. Hopefully, newer generations of chips and more sophisticated software will give us real-time 3D in the not too distant time. Only then will we avoid the detriment to Forum time. It is only a matter of time.

what seems to be missing in any consideration of 3d is the effect on acquisition time on patient throughput - a real concern for the busy laboratory. further, although volumes can be later analyzed and manipulated, when is this taking place and who is doing the analysis? and will this cut into forum time?
