Pontius Pilate was the Roman dignitary administering Palestine when Jesus Christ was crucified. He didn't decide about the captive (Jesus) but asked the people what they wanted to do with him-crucify or not?You decide-he said-I wash my hands (i.e. I'm not guilty for his death). Andrea

What is meant by Pontius Pilate ? Fazeel "James S. Smeltzer, MD" wrote:

Hi, This is a problem in sexist cultures. In China the problem has become so severe that females are scarce, and kidnapped as brides in the countryside.

If I knew that the information was for selective feticide or infanticide I would not provide it. A friend, Vikram Dogra, used to lie about the sex of female babies to his friends on ultrasound and not tell others. He finally solved his dilemma by coming here and doing a radiology residency. This would not be a happy position to be in.

The one time that I knew a 35 year-old Indian woman patient with three daughters used the female sex of her fetus as a reason for termination I was very disturbed. Pontius Pilate washed his hands. Do you think it got the blood off?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
