Re: C-P-D ...Cephalo-pelvic-disproportionFrom: Allen Worrall (jworrall@alaska.net)Mon Jan 8 13:58:24 2001
In the USA I do not believe ultrasound pelvimetry has a place. I have never seen a paper on it, heard a lecture on it, or seen a chapter in a book about it. I do not know if it can be done. I do not believe pelvimetry occupies the importance it did many years ago. When I was a resident it was a big thing, and x-ray pelvimetry was often done. Although I have not done obstetrics for 20 years, my impression is that now we have a trial of labor, and if the baby does not fit through the pelvis, we do a Section. Allen

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
